PDF Workbench – Help
Merge, reorganise, compress and convert PDFs locally in your browser.
How to merge and reorganise pages
- Open Edit mode.
- Click Add files (or drag PDFs into the drop area).
- Use Sidebar view for a professional workflow, or switch to Grid view for fast rearranging.
- Drag pages to reorder or move them across PDFs.
- Select pages (Ctrl/Cmd-click for multi-select) then use Delete or Rotate.
- Click Download PDF.
Password-protected PDFs
If a PDF is encrypted, the Workbench will prompt for the password. The password is used only to unlock the file locally and is not stored.
Compression (important)
Compression is implemented as a rebuild / rasterise process for reliability in a browser-only tool.
This can reduce file size but may make text non-selectable.
- Web Optimised – balanced size/quality
- High Compression – smallest file
- Print Optimised – higher quality
Create / Convert → PDF
- Images → PDF: add JPG/PNG/WebP and export a multi-page PDF.
- Text → PDF: use the “Paste text” button, then export.
- DOCX → PDF (Basic): best for simple documents (headings, paragraphs, lists). Complex layouts may differ.
Recommended limits
Up to 25 PDFs, 300 pages, 150MB total for smooth performance on most devices.
If your job is bigger: split it into two merges, then merge the results.
